Dr. DeMann is a healthcare specialist with a diverse background. He holds a doctorate degree in Chiropractic, a master’s degree in Orthopedic Biomechanics and a post-graduate degree in Sports Injury care.
Dr. DeMann specializes in both spine and sports related injuries. He is both a currently practicing Chiropractic Doctor as well as having spent time as a clinical researcher in Orthopedic Medicine. This background in Chiropractic, Orthopedics, and Sport Injury management creates a unique insight into many problems. His practice has a primary focus in two areas. One in the treatment of difficult spine cases, such as disc herniations and the second in the care and management of sports related injuries.
Dr. DeMann’s past and present clinical affiliations are as diverse as his educational background. They include Postgraduate Professor at the New York Chiropractic College, Post Graduate Professor of Neurophysiology at Touro College, Member Board of Advisors Oxford Health Plans, Director of the Post Graduate Electrophysiology Program at the New York Chiropractic College and member of both the American Chiropractic Association and the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians.
Experienced as both an accomplished lecturer and author, he received the recent distinction of being named for outstanding achievement in the “Who’s Who of American Professionals”. His publications have appeared in both lay magazines as well as professional journals including the prestigious international medical publication “Pain Management”. Dr. DeMann has appeared on both television and radio with his own syndicated weekly health talk show “Doctor on Call” and is listed as one of Fox Network’s “health authorities” having appeared on the nightly news several times.

Dr. DeMann enjoys a successful chiropractic sports injury practice, working with members of professional teams such as The New York Rangers, The New York Knicks, The Indiana Pacers, The New York Mets, The New York Giants. He has worked with professional dancers from the New York City Ballet, the Martha Graham Dance Company and the American Ballet Theater. Additionally, he has been named doctor to several “on” and “off” Broadway shows.
 
 
Dr. Hesse graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a BS Cum Laude in Biochemistry/Cell Biology. Subsequently, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. Upon completing her Orthopedic Surgery residency at the Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals Program, she pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Hesse established a private Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery practice in Miami, Florida prior to relocating to New York City.
 
Dr. Hesse provides office-based, comprehensive non-surgical Orthopedic Medicine evaluations, with particular focus on adult and juvenile athletic injuries, chronic musculoskeletal overuse disorders, in addition to acute and chronic back pain disorders.

Dr. Hesse strongly believes in a holistic approach to providing musculoskeletal medical care to her patients. By mindfully considering each patient’s unique functional and psychosocial requirements, she finds that better and more lasting positive outcomes to conservative treatment can be obtained.

As an Orthopedic Surgeon, however, Dr. Hesse recognizes when certain patient’s problems require surgical management, and arrangements for the appropriate surgical consultations will be made.

 
 
He began his career in chiropractic, receiving his doctorate from the Chiropractic Institute of New York. His undergraduate educational began with a bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences from Bloomfield College, then on to his doctorate. Continuing his education he was awarded a Masters Degree in biology from Bridgeport University. Dr. DeMann. Sr. has held a license in Florida as a Chiropractic Physician and presently licensed in New York.
Dr. DeMann, Sr. is a Diplomate in chiropractic craniopathy, specializing in head and neck problems such as headaches, allergies, temporo-mandibular dysfunction (TMJ), equilibrium conditions, Bell’s Palsy, etc. He is a Certified Sacro-Occipital Instructor, a Certified Craniopathic Instructor, and on the adjunct faculty of the New York Chiropractic College.
Some of Dr. DeMann’s affiliations have been as member of the American Chiropractic Association, the New York State Chiropractic Society, Sacro-Occipital Research Society, the International Craniopathic Society and the Craniopathic Teaching Organization.
Dr. DeMann, Sr. has written and lectured extensively in the United States, Europe and Asia on cranial dysfunction and its relationship to health and disease.

Dr. DeMann, Sr. was ultimately awarded a Fellow and Diplomate status from the International Craniopathy Society and Chiropractor of the Year Award in 1974. Dr. DeMann was the founder the Manhattan Chiropractic Center, one of the most successful and most respected Chiropractic practices in New York.
 
 
Dr. Kim completed her undergraduate training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned degrees in chemical engineering and biology. She then received her medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn (Downstate) and completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia and Cornell Universities, where she trained in such advanced medical procedures as neurologic testing, pain management and injection therapy. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

The focus of Dr Kim's practice is in Rehabilitation Medicine with an emphasis on back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee pain. The goal of her treatment plans are pain reduction with restoration of functional ability. She is very focused on the needs of patients to return to full activity quickly. To this end, physical therapy is often prescribed as an important part of the patient‚s entire medical care. Underlying this approach is the firm belief that, prior to any consideration of surgery, every patient isentitled to and should receive multifaceted, noninvasive conservative care.
 
 
Dr. Sardo earned a dual major from the St John Fisher College in New York. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. Sardo enjoys a successful chiropractic practice specializing in sports injuries and pregnancy related low back pain. She also enjoys treating infants and children, helping them to help keep their bodies in good general health as a whole. As a mother herself, she has seen first hand the benefits of chiropractic care and hopes to help others as well. Her focus on quality care helps her to stand out from the rest.

Dr. Sardo has worked with many professional artists like: The Rolling Stones, Royston Langdon, Tony C and The Truth and Nena. She is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and is certified in adult, infant and child CPR.

As a lay lecturer to various clubs and organizations on sport and spine related injuries, she is known for her informative lecture series. This series focuses on not only neck and back pain but also knee, shoulder and elbow problems.
 
 
Jeremy Cross graduated from University of Wisconsin with Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1998. He has a wide range of professional experiences since graduating eight years ago. He had his own very busy private practice and worked at the in a multidisciplinary pain management center at Oregon Health Science University before relocating more recently to New York City.
At Manhattan Spine and Sports Medicine, Mr. Cross oversees all physical therapy services. This includes back pain rehabilitation and as well as our pre and post operative treatment programs. He has numerous certifications in manual therapy and has been published in the well known Advance Magazine for Physical Therapists.

Dr. Gallant received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. She then pursued a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa.

During her studies at chiropractic college, she earned a certification in Sports Therapy while volunteering at various sporting events in the community and state wide. In addition to her clinical training she was chosen to participate in a clinic aboard program based in Salvador, Brazil, where she treated patients of all ages with spinal and sports injuries. After completing her clinical requirements at Palmer, she was enrolled in a preceptorship program where she worked in an established chiropractic clinic for her last semester.

Once completing her chiropractic studies, Dr. Gallant was offered a position in London, England at the Back Pain Centre. She practiced at this multidisciplinary clinic treating an array of spinal injuries. Shortly after she joined the Centre she was promoted to Senior Doctor and Clinic Director at the City branch, where she gained knowledge of every aspect of patient care and clinical management.

Dr. Gallant joined Manhattan Spine and Sports Therapy in June 2002 contributing her knowledge and experiences as a chiropractor and as director of patient information services.
